So - here is the status - all installs are fresh installations done on hard disks which have been cleaned (Shift+F10 during initial screen and a diskpart --> clean disk)
My original install on Windows 10N Education on bare metal - 45 shows scheduled, and the powercfg command fails when I schedule the 46th show
Did an install on 10N Education on a VM - 10 shows scheduled, and then the powercfg command fails once I schedule the 11th show
Did an install on Windows 10Pro on a VM - same issue
Did an install of Windows 10Pro on bare metal - 19 shows scheduled, and then the power cfg command fails after the 20th show is scheduled

All windows installations were updated with all the latest updates, had Windows Media Feature pack (for the N editions) and the DVD player app installed, for the codecs

Very puzzling behavior - and it's only for Windows 10.

Ignoring the powercfg thing, is it actually waking correctly (ignoring that initial problem you had with it not waking)? ie, there might be a limit to the numer of wake events that powercfg can list, but it may wake fine.

Given this powercfg command is not widely known, and we've heard of very few people using it before, maybe it's just a red herring and not worth focusing on.

just another data point. Did the powercfg -waketimers on my 2 clients (Intel NUC and Lenovo laptop) both running Win 10, and the command worked.

Okay - done with tests. Scheduled recordings wake up the PC and recording are done, even though the powercfg command gives an error.

By the way - I did replace NextPVR.exe, NRecord.exe and nshared.dll with the latest ones from the forum.

Thanks for all the suggestions.
