Hi there! Thanks for a great bit of software!

I'm a recent convert from Myth and have a pair of questions, first my setup:
Server dedicated to Only NPVR... Mostly Headless, though I can login to it as needed. Running Windows 7. Connects to an HDHR3-US
3 Client PC's all running Windows 10


I've got 1 question and 1 issue.

1) Is the NPVR Recording service necessary for client systems? I'm testing on one client and don't have any issues thus far, but wondering if anyone knows the official answer.

2) The odd issue is this... For the last two days I've awoken to one of two tuners on my HDHR3-US locked. So far it's happened twice in a row, only happened overnight (which makes me think it could be a maintenance event) First time I rebooted the HDHR and it cleared... Second time I rebooted the Switch and it cleared. I can't make it happen, and am wondering if anyone has a clue on to what could be causing it.

Bonus question!!! Because I run this Server Headless I'm tempted to save my Win 7 licence and not activate it... anyone else ever done that? Can't imagine it would cause problems in my use scenario but wondering.

No - you can stop it on the clients, and set it to disabled.

I don't know what would be causing that. I've not seen any reports of NextPVR causing this.

I hear ya... it's an odd one for sure. I hadn't set up any clients till Saturday night... why I was kind of wondering if the record service on the client was causing an issue, thus why I wanted to know if it could be disabled. If it does it again tomorrow I'm going to do the slow network wide reboot of anything that could possibly be touching it to narrow it down to a specific host, then work form there! Who knows, could have been a quirk.
