Maybe try playing a .mp4 file in Windows Media Player from that non-admin account, and let it do whatever it's got to do. It sounds like Windows is trying to install some extra components or something.
That "Preparing to Install" message isn't not coming from NextPVR. It sounds like something to do with whatever decoders/spliter your system chooses for .mp4 files.
The decoders on the Settings->Decoders screen only apply to .ts files. For any other types of file, NextPVR just lets Windows choose what decoders to use.
Maybe try running NextPVR with 'run as administrator' one time, and hopefully it'll be able to go through whatever it's trying to do.
I get what you are saying. That is why I tried installing all the new versions of SAF and LAV and then NPVR as administrator figuring that would solve it. If I run as administrator NPVR works fine I never get the "Preparing to Install" message. I can play all the videos using WMP or the new Windows Movies & TV app when using a non-privledged account. Got any other ideas how to clean up?
Did you right click on the NextPVR and click 'run as administrator'? ie, I'm not saying to try it from your desktop logged in as administrator. I though this might have then permission for Windows to make whatever changes it needs to make to the currently logged in non-admin account.
Yes, I did do that. I started googling the problem. App only runs as administrator. One of the blogs said to create another user account and see if it too has the same problem. Viola the problem went away. So it was a corrupt user account.
