For the last several months NextPVR works fine running as a window in Windows 10 but when expanded to full screen mode shows only the main menu screen (or the last menu screen that was used prior to expanding to full screen mode). Sound from the recording/video continues but I can't see the video. If I exit full screen mode and return to a window, the video is shown again but as a smaller inset next to the menu.

This problem has been present for several months since I was having difficulty with Next PVR crashing with video playback (which it now appears was related to a change in the AC3 decoder from windows after a windows update). I wonder if during my troubleshooting I inadvertently changed a setting.

Does anyone have any suggestions for how I might remedy this problem?

Many thanks for your consideration.

Does it show video if you were already fullscreen before starting playback?

No. If I try to show a video starting from the menu in full screen mode, sound for the video will start, but the the images do not appear. It stays on the menu screen.

Ok. Can you try playing the video, then post your logs?

I have attached log files after I did the following:

Opened NextPVR in "windowed" mode
Started viewing a recorded TV program (again, this occurs for ANY recorded program or live TV. The playback occurs properly in the window.
Shift to full screen mode. Now only the menu appears on the screen but the sound from the TV program I was viewing continues. (I attached an image of what the screen looks like at this stage).
Return to the "windowed" view. In the "windowed" mode at this stage only the menu appears in the window (similar to the previous step) but sound continues to play.

I hope this is helpful. Please let me know if I can provide any additional information. Thank you very much for your help!

Most people that have screen problems have systems that don't report Direct3D to NextPVR. What does your output from the program dxdiag report on the video tab. If it has D3D you might need to run an install of Directx9 https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download...px?id=8109

If you run "nextpvr.exe -no3d" does it make any difference?

Running NextPVR via "nextpvr.exe -no3d" solves the problem...at least so far.

It is also notable that doing this also seems to solve another problem I was having with the the menus in NextPVR being zoomed in to far and not visible if I set the system font size > 100% (which I prefer to do because we use this computer as a TV and have been dealing with microscopic fonts for months now).

I am not sure exactly what Martin is inquiring about, but I have attached a screen shot from the "Display" tab of the dxdiag report if this is helpful.

While this approach works, it would be nice to fix the problem more permanently if possible. I can open NextPVR this way but my wife or parents will have trouble with this approach.

Many thanks again for your assistance.

That is what I thought NextPVR isn't detecting D3D or the proper resolution. Did you install the dx9 runtime I suggested?
