This is by design. It'll record any show (on the same channel) with the same name that starts within 2 hours of the original start time.

If it doesnt work to your liking, you could try reducing the <AllowedTimeslotVariance> setting in the config.xml.

Anyone else having problems with MVP250 remote channel numbers not working? Everything else involving numbers works, just not pressing xx and changing to xx channel. So, I know the numbers are recieved right. THis is both on the MVP and drectly with the Hauppauge IR reciever.

I'm running 9.1.11, but have had the same problem for several releases.

Did you press OK after typing the numbers?

I too have the occaisional black screen when selecting a recorded show or even through the TV guide. I only watch through the MVP so I dont know about on the PC. Tuning the MVP off with the remote and letting it make contact with the server again usually fixes it. Sometimes I have to restart the recording service at the PC.

Strange. Great program though.

I have this exact problem too and have had it for some time as well. I have captured logs that I mean to send to sub, but GBPVR releases were coming out (for a while) faster than I was able to package up and send the logs. At this point I am running on .9107. I still get the problem, but I have been waiting for someone to report this problem fixed with the MVP before upgrading.

tipstir Wrote:I've finished testing, and repeated most of what I did under GB-PVR over the network to Media MVP when watching recorded TV shows and movies.

What I was doing:

Playing
Pausing
FF
RR
Skip FF
Skip RR
Stopping
Back/Exit (this one real problem)

Causes/Error/Lockup:

Where the GB-PVR Media MVP Server would either freeze up
Cause Media MVP to display everything all black just a small square block of image near the upper right and corner and hang there.

Or basically go all black on the Media MVP

On the PC Side it would just Crash the entire PC and cause a full Reboot and on the Media MVP side it would display "Connecting to Server", and then return back to GB-PVR Main Menu.

Using Media MVP Server Service Only: (no GB-PVR software installed)

Running the same TV Shows and movies using only the Hauppauge! Media MVP Server Software beta latest version produced nothing, no errors, no hangups and only saw one thing that might have sticked but it was at the last frame, but it unsticked when I had skipped ff at the end of the TV Show and then press RR and it started to do RR perfectly. That was a TV show recorded on GB-PVR over the weekend.

Now I've tried this under Windows XP Professional SP2 also, so don't say it's the OS, also from versions V0.91.107 then V0.91.109 and V0.91.11 all with clean installs and cleaned OS. Still get the same results. When I was using the older GB-PVR software versions 23.11, 23.13, 908, 9010 except for the EPG problem they work perfectly and I didn't have this problem.
Sorry, I'm just not in a position to look at this at the moment. I'm in the process of changing jobs, and having to do long hours to get everything completed during my notice period.

I promise I'll be able to look at this in about two weeks when I finish up.

Do you use the latest software (firmware?) from hauppauge? ie when you turn it on and off at the powerpoint do you have GBPVR running or the latest version of the hauppauge software? I did and was having problems much like yours which I thought were due to a run of poor DVBT captures but then I power cycled the mvp and let it reload off GBPVR the problem seems to have pretty much disappeared.

I only see the black screen when I hit the Stop button while watching a video. My server does not reboot itself though. I notice in Task Manager on it that one of the two GBPVR.exe processes started for my two MediaMVP's is sitting at 50% (maxxing one of the hyperthreaded processors). I kill the task and the RecordingService starts another one up and the MediaMVP will then work again. I am skipping to the end of videos in the mean time... Smile

Sub, good luck on the new job!
