Installing 4.1.0 On Windows Vista32

well sub linked the 2017 runtime rather than the 2015, but either way the user appears to have installed the 2013 runtime instead. Not the same thing. Troubleshooting seemed to be proceeding without notice of the wrong runtime being installed.

I used the same link from sub when I installed 4.10 on Vista and it worked for me. The path has vs/15 which seems odd for v 17. Maybe users need to base URL https://www.microsoft.com/en-ca/download...x?id=48145 and not the direct download.

yes, that link yields the 2015 VS runtime. Sub's link above, despite having vs/15 in the URL, yields the 2017 runtime.

From what I've read, the 2015 runtime would probably work. I've not tested it though.

The issues is both VS15 and 17 use concrt140.dll, msvcp140.dll and vcruntime140.dll. I see that NextPVR distributes the VS 2017 version of these files which might cause conflicts with a system without vs2017 installed.

Thanks all for the bump. I still have the same problem. I used the "MajorGeeks VC++ install
(Screenshot below from installed programs)
"[ATTACHMENT NOT FOUND]

The previous message above has all the npvr.log and machine event system/application viewer errors.
That post was done after the majorgeek install. So it is the most current with the 4.1.0 install.

I did revert back to npvr 3.9.2 and it works fine. This weekend I am going to try the 4.1.0 install again and try any suggestions.

Make sure your Vista OS is fully updated. eg you will need patches like this https://support.microsoft.com/en-in/help...in-windows
