Issues with recording stopping

Hi Guys,

New to NextPVR, got it setup with an IPTV provider and that works fine using a windows 7 PC
I have set it up to record to a folder that I have also setup with Dropbox so it uploads a file (So that I can watch the football when I get to work)

The problem I have is the recording is hit and miss, I generally only get around 45-55 minutes of recording

Any ideas what the problem might be?

Without logs it's kind of hard to tell, but one thing I would try is recording to a directory that Dropbox isn't syncing. It's possible at some point Dropbox decides the file needs to be synced and that once Dropbox takes control of the file NPVR can't write to it anymore.

I do not know how Dropbox handles a file that is growing. You might get a better result if you create a second folder and have Dropbox monitor the second folder (instead of the recording folder). You could use postprocessing.bat to copy the recording file from the recording folder to the second "Dropbox" folder when the recording ends ... http://www.nextpvr.com/nwiki/pmwiki.php?...BatchFiles

Thanks guys, when I get home from work today I will try recording to a different folder and see how that goes.

Obviously an issue with Dropbox syncing as it worked perfectly the times I tested it last night when saving to a different folder.

I think the easiest thing for me to do is set the dropbox service to start and stop between set hours.
