database nulls

how can fix the entries that erroneously require 'not null' when most of the entries contain nulls?
or really, how do i remove that 'not null' requirement of those fields as they obviously aren't being honored?
'scheduled_recording.event_details may not be null" when all manual recordings have no event details?!
this is illogical....lol
[and mainly, prevents 'strict' db editors from editing any entries]

Choose another editor there are many things in the schema that are not enforced.

isn't it simpler and more 'correct' not to require things erroneously?
why can't i change it? i tried once and it hosed my db..seems like that should be simple and allowed..

i haven't found any other editors that i like, they all seem to take much longer to just get to where i can edit some text quickly and aren't portable and need installation..
or aren't free...

i just took it off of failure_reason and event_details and filename since they seem to be only ones that have nulls in them occasionally.

actually my hosed db may have been because i may have forgotten to stop npvr rec service first...

aha, new version has new setting to ignore those not nulls
