This may have been suggested before, but I couldn't see it. I would like it if the "cursor" returned to the same position in the recording list after deleting a recording. I record two episodes of Malcolm in the Middle each day, and most of them are reruns. Usually, they are near the bottom of the recording list (or middle), and I have to delete 3 or 4. Every time I delete one, I have to scroll through the entire list to delete the next one. It would be nice to stay at the same position in the list after deleting an episode.

Thanks.

You might want to look at the video archive plug-in. It keeps position in the list when deleting.

I just tried out the video archiver plugin with disastrous results. I have lost some really good movies that I was going to put on DVD because video archiver deleted them. Here's what happened:

GB-PVR stores all my recordings in the directory: "E:\My Videos". When I configured the video archiver plugin, I told it to archive videos to the directory "E:\My Videos\Archived". I then selected a recording using the plugin, and chose "archive". I thought that this would copy the video to the other directory and remove it from the list. However, the video was still in the list. I then chose it again, and chose "archive" again. This time it seemed to work, because it was no longer in the list. I then did the same for 4 or 5 other videos (big mistake). I was wondering why I had to perform the process twice on each video, and now I figured it out. The plugin copied the files to the "archived" folder the first time, and left it in the list. When I chose to archive it the second time, it "copied" it to the "archived" folder (which is where it already was, i.e. source and destination were the same), then deleted the source, which was also the destination. So I ended up losing all the videos that I archived twice. This really sucks.

Anyway, now I realize that the "archive" function is not for removing a video from the list, but it is for moving the videos to another drive on your computer to free up space. I didn't realize this (it didn't seem very clear on the wiki website).

Maybe to prevent this from happening in the future, the plugin could check to see if the source and destination are the same when something is archived, otherwise the file will be deleted.

I found using the plugin that "Archive" is synonymous with "Delete Permanently and leave no trace" Wink
Otherwise a good plugin, just don't ever hit the "Archive" button.
I still haven't found that video...too many mpg's to search through, and I can't remember it's name, thanks to RenameRecording Big Grin
