I'm using a Windows 2019 x64 server without a monitor for NextPVR.
All control is done over RDP

I noticed something strange with the GUI (NextPVR.exe from the client directory)
When I leave it running it maxes out my CPU usage
But only when I minimize or disconnect RDP
As soon as I see the screen (RDP) the CPU usage drops

I have never seen this kind of behavior with any other programs
The peak in the screenshot is when RDP is minimized

When I tested NextPVR over RDP, I got very high CPU too until I enabled directx acceleration over RDP.

That being said what is missing from the web ui that requires you to use RDP in the first place?

Well I do everything over RDP so that is not strange for me.
The biggest problem for the web interface is this me:

If I search something I can schedule it to record. But I can't see if I already done that

Using the GUi I can clearly see if it's already scheduled. Just like in the screenshot above.
That way I won't accidentally record it twice (or more)

I know sub added the new flag to the search so it is possible that he could also add a recording indicator.

@sub note the xml interface for the channel.listings.search API returns invalid xml for the channel name.

<channel_name>CJOHDT</channel_id>

Good spotting. I've only used the json api, so didn't notice this. Fixed for the next build.

Kodi doesn't use it either I as just quickly checking to see if changing the search required a backend change.

This has now been implemented for the next build.
