issue with channel change

running npvr 4.2.5 server on a PC, clients are (2) FireStick 4K's &  (1) non-4K Firestick, all running Kodi 18.6.

The issue is that when attempting a channel switch on the FTV 4K's, most of the time,  the screen goes blank for a few seconds, then it kicks me out of live 
TV and returns me to the previous screen (screen used to launch live TV).   

On the non-4K firestick, channel changes work fine.

Anyone see this before, is there a parameter adjustment in Kodi or the 4K's that would allow channel change to work correctly?

I am going to call off the dogs on this one. I just tried the FTV 4K's with my NPVR5 test server and the channel changing works great. I will just wait a couple of weeks until I am able to bring on line my new NPVR5 server.

In v4 Timeshift mode is not stable and Extended Timeshift can't be used for fast channel changing. You should be ok with Real Time.

As you found out v5 is much more reliable for Timeshift channel changing.

Extended timeshift was the culprit. I switched the ftv 4K's from "extended timeshift" to "timeshift" and now no issues with channel changing. I still will be moving to v5 shortly.

I have no doubt you will crash from time to time if you actually try timeshifting but glad you have it worked out.
