Hoping someone can help. I have the SDK 3.1 Runtime installed and trying to run the following command to test changes in the database. But nothing gets changed. Is this the correct syntax to use to rename files in the database.

I'm trying to create a script to rename files with no SXXEXX so Plex can see it.

dotnet "C:\Program Files\NextPVR\NScriptHelper.dll" -Rename "G:\NextPVR Recordings\NHL Hockey\NHL Hockey_20200426_15301700.ts" "G:\NextPVR Recordings\NHL Hockey\NHL Hockey - Episode 4-26.ts"

I appreciate any help.

Unfortunately NScriptHelper is quite different between v4 and v5. This was a v4 command.

v5 doesn't have this same command, but I'll try to add it for an upcoming build.

Is it possible to change how files are named that don't have SXXEXX? Plex doesn't see files with the current file naming structure. But it can read dates with dashes. Another option would be to add "-Episode - (Record month/day). So if the file naming structure can change I really wouldn't need NScriptHelper.dll -rename.

Plex apparently artificially adds SXXEXX in the epg for shows that don't have SXXEXX.

Thought I ask. Not sure which would be more work changing the file format or adding NScriptHelper.dll -rename to v5.

The below example
Example:
NHL Hockey_20200426_15301700.ts To NHL Hockey_2020-04-26_15301700.ts OR NHL Hockey_20200426_15301700 - Episode 04-26.ts

I noticed in the latest release that "-" are in the date for shows with no SXXEXX. These shows now appear in Plex. I really appreciate the quick turnaround.

It may help you, but really sucks for me and possible others that depend on the old format for other utilities.  This has been the naming format since GBPVR <1 not sure why one user's command was all it took to make the change.

I understand your issue. I wouldn't call the change a command but a request. However, I wouldn't have any issues if Sub wants to revert back to the original file naming structure. I'll just wait until the -Rename command is added NScriptHelper.dll.

Oops. I was experimenting with this, but hadn't intended to include it in the release (until I'd added a checkbox to enable it etc)
