Does this feature no longer exist in version 5.x? I recorded 4 channels on the same multiplex but, 4 tuners were used instead of 1.
Is their a setting in the config file I should change?

It should be automatic but it depends on the tuner and the device priority and if your are also using live tv. If these are HDHR devices in HDHR mode, there is no multirec.

I were not using live tv. What should I change the device priority to?
How do I take the HDHR devices out of HDHR mode?

The HDHR protocol is designed by SiliconDust for one channel per tuner.

If you're running NextPVR on Windows, you can install the SiliconDust BDA drivers, which gets the HDHomeRun device to also be listed in NextPVR with types 'DVB-T' or 'ATSC' etc. These non-'HDHR' device types can be used to get more than one channel per frequency. This is no option for doing this on Linux.

According to the URL at the end of this post some HDHR devices support multirec in linux. Mythtv is a linux only program. I have never used Mythtv, so I cannot say if it works.

It's more about the protocol/api used. NextPVR supports multi-rec with all HDHomeRun devices on Windows (except for HDHR Prime), but you need to use the SiliconDust BDA drivers, and access via the 'DVB-T' or 'ATSC' device types.

For the 'HDHR' device type, NextPVR uses the SiliconDust's modern, recommended api for accessing the stream. This api only supports a single channel per tuner. There was an older, more archaic api, which in theory could be used to support multi-rec with the 'HDHR' but it's not supported by NextPVR.

TVHeadend (another Linux program) has multi-rec / multiplex capabilities. I were able to record 2 channels on 1 tuner.

As sub mentioned, it is the type the HDHR mode doesn't support multirec not the HDHR device He hasn't implemented the older mode outside windows and not sure if he plans to. I wouldn't call the mode archaic though.

The screenshots won't change the answer. There is no issue the feature is not available outside Windows on the HDHR.
