Show available Disk Space in Recordings?

I used the HDHR DVR Kodi addon in the past and it is able to display the available disk space on the main Recordings screen in Kodi (bottom right corner). Could this be added for the NextPVR addon?

Someone submitted a PR on this and then abandoned it. I figure there were three issues on this but the submitter never responded. The issue I saw was
- Kodi polls for size every few seconds so it is very spammy - the size is a total of all drives so free space is quite arbitrary you could have a full drive and empty drive so there would be no warning - multiple recording folders on the same drive count are summed as separate drives - if a configured drive is offline it can take 30 seconds for NextPVR to respond to this call for that drive alone. If sub addresses the last issue I would be willing to work this out but I would be happy to hear your suggestions on dealing with the issues. Here is how my setup looks in NextPVR if it helps. Martin
It would just be a "nice to have" feature for a simple setup like mine with just one recording drive and folder. Maybe there could be an option for the addon in Kodi to display total free space (or not) and somehow make the caveats with multiple drives known to the user?

Sub's made that point too and I don't disagree. If the API could be changed to optionally not try all the extra directories and just return the default it works best for me. I prefer not have to add a configuration option for this and the explanation the drive free and available space is not additive is not intuitive.
Recording the server spam I was thinking of just updating when recording lists change so files deleted, started and finished plus on an interval like every five minutes to keep the spam down. Martin

This feature is now enabled in Matrix pvr.nextpvr 7.1.1 which was released today and will trickle out over the next few days. It is enhanced by NextPVR 2020-10 which since sub has sped up the release. Hopefully you will have a chance to test it.

Yes, only for Matrix. I was told that the Kodi team won't be approving anything for Leia butt they are making a possible exception for a recent issue with http/2 and Cloudfare. I would not even consider submitting a cosmetic change like this.
