Composite Video V5

I still have a requirement for composite video from a Satellite Set Top Box. I would like to try V5 but it does not appear to support Composite from a Colossus 2 card as it does in V4.
The other cards I have are Hauppauge PVR 2210 V5 appears not to support the analogue inputs. Without buying more capture cards do I have an alternative apart from staying with V4.
I would like to try the new V5 software.

Are you sure it doesn't work? Direct show analog in Windows was dropped but the Colossus support is a little different.

Also depending on the card, analog support in Linux is better then the Windows support via v4l. I use my PVR 2200 one tuner digital and one tuner svideo + sound.

In Device in V4 there is a configuration for Composite, S Video, Component and HDMI in V5 there is only HDMI and Component.

If you just copy your database to the v5 folder does it work?  It could  just be a missing in the web UI.

Yeah, that should work. It's just a case of the UI not currently offering you the option with a Colossus 2.

That, works but my usbuirt blaster path is wrong although can fix that by recreating the old X86 NPVR path. Would be muck easier if the option of Composite Video was offered in the UI.
I have previously tried editing the db3 file with no success I guess I am too old and not clever enough.

Composite video is of limited interest to most people but I have a few old devices I still regularly use and I still transfer video tapes to DVD for a few old friends.

Yes it would be easier and it will probably come back some day, I simply was trying to get you going in the meantime. V5 has been in full release (out of beta) for a year this month and this is the first comment on this missing UI element, to give you an idea of the relative priority.

Thank you for the information I have finally got around to trying it. Using the V4 database works, unfortunately with channel changes on this satellite set top box being a regular occurrence I need to be able to edit and add channels to make it practical use V5. I will have to continue using V4 at this time. I will keep a eye out for any changes in the future.
Apart from the lack of Composite on the Colossus 2 card V5 is a great application and I would like to use it in the future.

Just discovered this wonderful app, got my ATI HD750 PCIe tuner cards up and running for ATSC on Win 10 :-). I also want composite for capture, and as Peter found out no comp in V5. Downloaded V4.2.4 as suggested but found no composite setting in devices. Wrong version, wrong driver, or am I too stupid to see the setting? Willing to download, debug, and reboot all night, many nights if needed, thanx in advance.

That would be a V4 support question so search on how to install SoftPVR however note that the tuner will be either/or so if you are happy with ATSC why not stick on V5?
