I've had NextPVR installed on my Windows computer since 2014, although I haven't used it much in the past couple of years. Recently I replaced the motherboard and decided to get NextPVR working again; I have an HDHomeRun device on the network as well as a Hauppauge tuner card in the PC itself. I would like to store recordings on my Synology NAS and be able to access them from other computers as well as my Samsung Smart TV, but that's another subject altogether.

After upgrading to the latest version, I find that there is no "login" requester as expected when I go to the "localhost:8866" link. Instead I'm taken directly to a "What's New" page, but there is no access to add or edit channels or to modify tuners, guide information, or system settings. Attaching screenshot below.

How do I correct this situation? I see that 3.7.7 is still running alongside the new installation. Do I need to uninstall it completely, and will that affect the recordings previously made with it?

At the very least, you need to go into the windows Services, stop the NextPVR Recording Service and set it to disabled. After this, restart the NextPVR Servce and v5 should be running.

Later you can uninstall v5

No, though you probably want to backup a copy of the config.xml and npvr.db3 from the old c:\users\public\npvr, and copy them into the v5 directory c:\users\public\npvr-data

Afraid that didn't help. I tried shutting down the services and restarting several times and I kept getting that same (v3) web page.

What finally worked was shutting down all NextPVR services, rebooting, uninstalling NextPVR v3, rebooting, and then reinstalling with the current version. Now I'm able to log in and adjust settings, but I'm still having trouble with getting NextPVR to recognize my Schedules Direct account for the Hauppauge card tuners (although it's working with the HDHomeRun).

It sounds like maybe you need to go to the Settings->Channels page, click Advanced Tools -> AutoMap, choose HDPVR, and your channel lineup and hit ok.
