Pluto TV Multiple Instances

Hi,

I was wondering if there is any news on being able to have multiple instances of Pluto TV.  I have set it up properly, but when a show records, all instances record the same show.  I've had 4 set up and I get 4 streams and 4 comskips all running at the same time.  I checked in the database and each device had a separate priority each as I have them listed in the Devices tab of the UI.

Does this not yet work or am I doing something wrong?

I didn't make changes to the Extra functionality in 5.2.1 and didn't test it at all after I found the change didn't support passing instance parameters to the scripts Later on I also found 5.2.1 broke all my extras for multi-rec and sub is planning on reverting that for the next release.

I don't know what sub's next plans for this feature are.

My extras are working well in 5.2.2 but I haven't tested and won't be testing your original bug scenario since passing parameters is NextPVR functionality. We'd need to see your logs.

Seems to work great! I had created a second extra-pluto-1.xml device and found that NP had spawned a second stream without the need for the second device. I will be removing that second device.

Are you saying NextPVR is letting you run two instance on the existing addon? That shouldn't be happening either. Are you sure it isn't using the second device.

No I'm not sure. What I noticed is: 1) that 2 streams were recording. 2) Device status listed extra-pluto and then the 2 streams. 3) "ps -ef |grep streamlink" showed the 2 streams. 4) The streams were for the same channel at the crossover time due to pre and post padding.

So I assumed from that information that 2 streams were started for extra-pluto since extra-pluto-1 was not listed in Device Status. However, this may be exactly what is needed when recording back-to-back episodes with padding so that only 1 device is needed per channel.

I will now be sure to test 2 simultaneous recordings on separate channels.

I think this is working exactly how it should. I have 2 recordings going now using the 2 pluto devices. I'm pretty sure the reason I had 2 streams on a single device was due to the crossover time as one is ending and the other starting with padding.
