I had watched to the end of that race but not the end of the recording and this has happened several times when I stopped a recording half way through the race and wanted to finish watching later. In this instance there should have been time remaining in the recording when I stopped it with me planning to watch s section in the middle that I had missed when we got company.

I am not disputing what you are saying, simply saying there are two issues, there is an unexpected lock on the map maybe because of in-progress playback and the wrong duration here that doesn't factor in the post-padding so NextPVR thinks it is over.
