I am using the latest version, just upgraded a few hours ago & NextPVR.exe for display & I can't see any art in Music either list view or icon view even though all my folders have a folder.jpg in them & most of the tracks have embedded art as well? It would also be nice if when it is working it would display "cover.jpg" as well as they seem to be fairly common these days.

I'm a bit busy today, but will take a look tomorrow. It's been quite a while since I explicitly checked this.

I think a recent discussion on this https://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.ph...#pid565576
Identified only folder.jpg is currently supported.

And there is a bit more to it than I posted above..... in icon view anyway, in my setup I go into a folder called _Main Albums & in it are a pile of folders but a good portion of these folders don't display any image at all not even the folderImage but some do show the folderImage, then when I go into an album the actual mp3s files show the folderImage icon which is more than a bit confusing.

Since I am pretty sure only folder.jpg is supported mixed content will have problems. Currently the UI client API doesn't provide any method of updating the UI so having a folder.jpg is more logical, at least for now. I have no experience with music playback in NextPVR.exe

Specific to UI clients after the NMT era when I switched to Kodi 10 years ago I have been the only one even asking sub for anything music related for x-newa and knewc and I am not sure I have seen any music requests for NextPVR.exe in that period so I think sub can be forgiven for letting library playback priority slide and get so long in the tooth. Even with the music and internet radio support I have added over the years I still might be the only one using them.

The good news is with Android clients like uidroid and sub's NextPVR client it is trivial to get into Spotify and other more modern music services which are how people listen now.

I am not complaining just pointing out it is broken Wink and I know sub will get to it when he gets some time.... of course I will need it to be better than it is now before I do the final upgrade to my new server but that will be a while away yet as I have other things I have to complete before then.

It's been a long time since I looked at the music library.

I found there was some windows-specific code that was commented out from when I moved from v4 to v5, that was responsible for checking music files for any embedded tags (album/artist/title/genre/track/artwork).

I've checked and there is platform independent way of doing this, but I can't supply it as a patch, since it'll introduce a new dependency. I'll need to make that change closer to the next release, so that I'm still in a position to provide patches until then.
