Nextpvr is an amazing program - it will be worth to redo my OTA tuner setup and get the guide all sorted

MPC-HC works fine to play the file - is there a way I can nlite can launch an external program and then go back nlite - I preper that and really at the end of the day this to make the wife happy Smile

Worse case I can use the KODI add-on

No, but sub should be able to fix it. I suspect if you remux to mp4 in the NextPVR post recording options you will be ok, otherwise usethis quick step in post processing

Code:
pathto\ffmpeg -i input.ts -codec copy -c:s copy output.ts
delete input.ts
copy output.ts input.ts

Also knewc on Kodi is the same interface as nlite and it can autostart if you want to hide Kodi. You can also fire up and Android, Apple or Roku device instead of a PC.

Great. Glad you're liking it.

Yuck, no chance I'm adding that Big Grin

As Martin mentioned, the issue seems to because there is some garbage at the start of the stream. Specifically, it's not 188 byte aligned, like transport streams are supposed to be. It's likely something your IPTV provider is doing. I'll have a look how I can get nlite/nextpvr to behave better with this stream.

Just confirming, I see the same issue playing your recording in nlite here. Investigating best way to fix.

I've updated https://nextpvr.com/client.zip. I can play your recording with this version.

Yes it works great now - thank you so much - also there is no lag in opening a live channel and channel switching is fast
In fact one of the reason I hesitated switching from V4 to V5 was initially the lack of the client mode - nlite now does that quite well!

I do notice the nextpvr.exe on the server has this lag because of the garbage at the start of the stream - is this fix something that can be added to the main program?

Although nothing prevents me from running nlite on the server if this can't done.

One thing to point out on the website to download nlite - it links to http://www.nextpvr.com/nlite-win32.zip
I tried it at first and its appeared to only work with V4 - and was giving errors - luckily I found the correct link - is there a plan to do something with this version? or should the link be changed to client?

Honestly, nlite is better than client mode ever was in v4. There was lots of hacks in v4 client mode, and while it kind of worked ok, it was pretty bad.

Hmm, I'm not noticing anything with that recording. Was it only with live tv?

Ok. I've updated this link to point to the windows client.zip build, and updated the source code link and indicate it was for Linux/Mac.

What I meant to say is that what ever you did to ignore the junk at beginning of the .ts recording also works well for the live TV. I notice that using the latest nlite with the fix improves the response time of the live TV channel to view. But now that I double checked vs the viewing live TV on the server - performance is about the same - in any case works great now - recordings, live TV on server and client.

One quick question - in nextpvr in fullscreen I would right click get menu and exit - in nlite - in fullscreen how do you exit (is there a keyboard shortcut)?

Too funny - alt F4 is the universal windows close command - and here I was thinking it was some special command unique to nextpvr - like alt-enter which gives the full screen  Blush
