Hello,

I was wondering if NextPVR has the ability to add multiple URLs for IPTV channels? When a URL changes I go into the database and edit the Tuning field of CHANNEL_MAPPING table in the <source> tag. Is it possible to ", http:/more sources" in this tag?

Clarity, have the ability to have multiple url feeds to a single channel. If a source goes down it switches to a secondary feed built into a single channel.

You need to state your requirements. Typically your create multiple tuners and merge channels

A channel can have multiple sources. For example, you might be able to receive BBC2 via DVB-S, DVB-T and two different IPTV sources.

As Martin said, you'd typically setup the different sources, then merge the channels. After this they'd appear as a single channel that could have came from multiple different sources

Thank you I am looking at the Merge function of nextPVR now but it appears that its not switching to other sources. I have attached a pic showing a channel has multiple sources and verified the "main" source is bad and the secondary source loads and plays if you enter the URL directly into VLC, however the "main" URL the one that is listed for the channel under Settings>Channels is bad and doesnt work. When I play the channel in the web player I get error Streaming Failed (transcoder exited). I imported a new m3u with new channel sources and then go to channels and select the channel thats bad with the newly imported channel and do Advanced Tools > Merge. This makes the newly import channel disappear and the old "bad" channel is still in the list with [2 sources] now on the line. If there's a wiki page or anything else I need to do for it to switch sources any help would be appreciated.

There are a few types of failures. If your "bad" URL returns a 200 it will not fail over. It also won't fail over if the m3u8 is bad. It might not fail over if it times out.

You'd need to upload your zipped logs. Screenshots don't help.

I don't think the channels are merged correctly, I didn't find a test where it was on more than one channel.

2022-03-14 09:08:58.247 [DEBUG][149] checking: IPTV (http://...)
2022-03-14 09:08:58.247 [DEBUG][149] enabled and present
2022-03-14 09:08:58.247 [DEBUG][149] does not have channel
2022-03-14 09:08:58.247 [DEBUG][149] checking: IPTV (http://...)
2022-03-14 09:08:58.248 [DEBUG][149] enabled and present
2022-03-14 09:08:58.248 [DEBUG][149] has channel

So while the 404 happens and the error logic might be able to be improved I am not sure there is a channel to fail too.

Most of the scenarios where a failure will cause it to look for another source around limited to recordings, and it wont do the same thing for live tv.

Also, the scenarios were really designed around real tuners, for situations like a device failing to start. For IPTV, it only covers to few situations around the stream failing to connect successfully (non-200 response)

Thanks so unless the error logic gets changed, my best solution would to be just keep replacing the url in the database and stop merging channels?

I don't think it is just logic, since the 404 was being returned. To me it doesn't look they aren't merged correctly.
