dgeezer,
THANKS!!!! That works perfectly. I don't know why my postprocessing.bat file doesn't work.

I set up (3) shows to record last night before I went to bed, each .5 long and .5 hour between each show. Got up this morning to check on it, and not one of them generated the .txt file. The gbrrecordingservice.exe.log shows the postprocessing thread started for the first show, but not for the second or third shows?????

Anyway, it only takes 4 minutes to process a 30 minute show, so I can process all my shows manually and in the meantime tinker around to get it to work automatically. I am just glad to be able to get it to work!!!

congenictv,
Yes, I got the OSD to show up. I changed the video decoder from the "system defualt" setting to the "InterVideo NonCSS Video Decoder". It also worked when I changed it to the "Cyberlink Video/SP Decoder". I don't know what the "system defualt" decoder is, but it doesn't seem to work for me.

Anyway, I am happy for now. I still want to have the comskip down automatically, but I can live with doing it manually for awhile until I can figure out why it won't work for me through the postprocessor.

Thanks again to everybody for their suggestions. I'm off to comskip my recorded files!!!

I'm glad that worked.

I will also tinker with my setup and see if I can get it to work automatically.

I've never done any programming so even the batch files etc. leave me a little confused. But, if a computer illiterate like myself can get excellent results out of the software then it is definitely a great product.

Now if I can just figure out how to get Divx files to work on the MVP reliably.....

.

I think if you copy the 3 comskip files into the directory where your mpgs are, and make a batchfile with

FOR %%a IN (*.mpg) do comskip "%%a"

in it, it will run comskip one at a time on all of them. Or you can copy all of the comskip files into the same folder, and drag a mpg onto comskip.exe to fire it off manually.

wtg Wrote:Y I've never found this to be a problem. I often watch shows just shortly after they've been recorded, or while they are still recording, and comskip runs fine once the recording stops even so. If I'm watching a show while comskip is running I can't skip commercials until it's complete and I've started the video again, but I've not run into any trouble with comskip failing.

Good luck

It's odd, for me whenever I play the file before comskip does it's thing with it, i find that no .txt file will ever be generated. Lol, oh well!

I had the exact same problem in that comskip would never run after recording, but worked fine when invoked from the command line. Simply reinstalling the files (as downloaded from the wiki) into the gbpvr directory made it work. Don't know why though!
