How do I shut the service down? Can I run it on as needed basis instead?

Hi! I am using a Debian variant, Raspberry Pi OS

Two questions 

Now that it is installed, the daemon or service or whatever seems to be running 24/7. How do I shut this down temporarily?  I was looking in the web interface but didn’t come across the button yet, my apologies if I overlooked it

And, can I run the service on an as needed basis instead even if it’s tedious?  I don’t have things working with it fully yet , but do not wish to uninstall it. I don’t need it communicating with any of my services while I’m not actually using it, so I’d rather it not run until it’s working properly

NextPVR doesn't have a "button". As shown on the wiki under useful commands https://github.com/sub3/NextPVR/wiki/nextpvr-helper

sudo service nextpvr-server stop

I have a second hard drive mounted at media/clay. I want to use that drive for my recordings. But when I click on the folder button of the record file location window I don't see the drive in media/clay. I recall that with plex, the server is it's own user and prob;ems like this are usually the result of drive permission issues. But since NextPVR isn't it's own user,  permissions shouldn't be an issue.

If you read the wiki you will see that NextPVR runs as user name nextpvr
