Hi,

I am new to this forum and am trying to setup and evaluate the NextPVR software. I can view live and recorded TV okay on the Web App, however I’m having problems with the Desktop App. When trying to view live or recorded TV with the Desktop App, the picture is black with the occasional fleeting flashes of the picture when I right click on the window, the sound is very sporadic and broken.
 
I have installed NextPVR on a HP EliteDesk 800 G1, Intel Core i5-4670 3.40GHz computer with a clean fresh install of Windows 10 Pro. Before installing NextPVR, I stalled LAV Filters v0.77.1 (LAV Audio x86 & LAV Video x86). After installing NextPVR, I did a channel scan and uploaded EPG Guide. I then went into the Desktop App and set all Video and Audio Decoders to LAV. All other NextPVR settings are at the default state. I am using a Hauppauge WinTV-quadHD (model 1607) tuner card. I have reinstalled Windows and NextPVR twice with the same result.

I assume I have a decoder problem, I have scanned through the forum for ideas but haven’t found any. I believe I have setup NextPVR correctly according to the Wiki guide and am out of ideas. I have attached logs which I saved immediately after trying to view live TV on the Desktop App. I would greatly appreciate any assistance you can give me.

Hi and welcome to the forum!

This problem might be because of the on-board intel graphics card.
See this old thread for details where the recommendation was to download the latest drivers from intel and disable all "video processing options" in the driver settings.

or select an earlier version of the drivers and then an option to auto-detect drivers will appear.

If you didn't manage to get it playing in the desktop app, can you supply a onedrive/googledrive type link to a sample video download? I'll check it here.

Thanks to gEd & sub for replying to my post and the link to the thread that gEd provided.

My problem seems to have been caused by Intel’s ‘Film Mode Detection’, by disabling this mode, NextPVR.exe can now play live and recorded videos.

I was already using the latest Intel graphic drivers because I had earlier rebuilt/reinstalled Windows. For those interested, the Intel graphic driver ‘Film Mode Detection’ setting is found at ‘Intel HD Graphics Control Panel>Video>Image Enhancement (Advanced)’, set ‘Film Mode Detection’ to Disable.
