That would normally mean NextPVR started before the network was ready, but since it is deferred that should not be the case.

Hmm, that is pretty weird. All I can say is that I have not seen the network go offline in the past week since I swapped the motherboard. That is, every time I have sat on the couch and turned the PC on with the remote control macro, it has had network and came up long before I got an image on my projector (that takes a good minutes). I can't say how many seconds it takes the PC to negotiate the link when the OS wakes up from sleep, but I believe it's on the order of seconds, certainly not minutes. At least that's what I see if I physically unplug/replug the Ethernet cable. It might take 1 second more to negotiate 10gig vs slower links. I don't think that's significant here. I wouldn't be complaining about seconds being missed from recordings. But we are talking minutes here.

I just did one more test this afternoon. Around 4pm, I set a "quick record" for the local news at 5pm. I then put the system to sleep. The machine woke up on time on its own for the recording, and I got a 33 minute recording - approximately 16:59 - 17:32 . No problem that I could see. So, the issue isn't systematic, even when the system first wakes up from sleep.

I'll keep watching it. If it happens again, I wonder if I can work around it by recording everything 7-8 minutes early ?

Reviving an old thread here - it looks like wake timers under Windows are broken on both Z690 and Z790 chipsets (I verified this for both), and possibly many earlier Intel chipsets.
See the thread at

and

Intel blames Microsoft for this behavior, so far.

I'm currently testing equivalent functionality under Linux to see if the machine wakes up late there too.
I have multiple AMD X470 and X570 systems which don't have any of these problems with wake timers.
Really wish I had gone AMD instead of Z690/Z790 on those last two machines. I was swayed by the better I/O options in those chipsets. I could never have suspected the wake timers would not work right.
