Kodi NextPVR client continuous stopping/buffering

Hello

My configuration is:

- NextPVR backend running on a MiniPC (server)
- NextPVR KODI client running on an Android TV

The mini pc is not very powerful, old model, but apparently everything was enough, except maybe the wifi adapter, that was pretty slow and only 2,4G wifi net capable

I installed a wifi 5G capable USB adapter, but the internet speed is quite poor, around 40 to 100 Mbps depending on the system mood (lloks like the pc is the bottleneck). But I thought this should be enough anyway for streaming live tv to the client.

If I run the client on the same server PC, there is no problem, so it looked like a netwrok issue apparently.

So, finally I temporarily substituted the old mini pc by a newer one I had at home for other purposes, and it runs perfectly with it.

So my question is, where could be the bottleneck here? Can I save my old pc or just have to buy a new one? apparently the system resources looked enough, CPU around 2%, memory 50%, wifi peaks of 11Mbps...

I mean, what are the most typical system demanding issues from NextPVR server streaming?

NextPVR should be able to run on a mini PC. Make sure you are connecting Kodi to the local LAN address and not the Internet address.

USB 2 can't deliver much more the 100Mb either so use a USB 3 port (blue) if you have one.

The issue with wifi isn't the peak it is how constant the data delivered, it it drops below the bandwidth of the broadcast you will get buffering. One test for dropout with the slow mini PC is to try watching a recording.

Yep! 

So I did the test with a recording and is stopping/buffering same way, randomly, more or less depending on conditions. 

The original live broadcasting casually was ok, and playing the recording right now is stopping a lot.

If recordings are in issue, then I think there is something seriously wrong with the networking. However make sure the recording plays ok with another configuration, since that could be signal too.
