Can these files be deleted from each recording?

I'm the family helpdesk, not an everyday user of NPVR.  The problem they are having is ...

Apparently when I did a recent update of NPVR the number of files for each recording increased from two to four
Before its was *.ts & *.xml   (the video & synopsis in xml) 
Now its *.ts, *.xml , *.thumbnails, *.timings & *.tsmap
They thought the *.thumbnails, *.timings & *.tsmap  were not wanted and manually deleted them for each recording.

Any damage done?
Can recordings be configured so it just leaves the *.ts & *.xml?  

They play back the video files directly without going into NPVR.

Setup: Simple - a couple of FTA tuners on a win10 desktop used as a standalone appliance (not networked).

On the settings -> general page, you can set thumbnails generation to ‘none’ to avoid getting these extra files.

That said, if you’re watching the recordings in NextPVR, the experience is much nicer with these files. They give you much more accurate skipping, and thumbnails so you can see where you will be skipping to. These extra files will be automatically deleted when you delete a recording. (You won’t have hurt anything manually deleting them - just worse skipping, and no thumbnails)

All done and tested, thumbnails nice idea but not required.
