So.. I can log in fine on the PC where NextPVR is installed: localhost:8866, supply admin username and password, and off we go. Great.

But when I try the same a PC on the LAN - any PC, and any browser - it fails.
http://[IP address]:8866 get me the login screen just fine. I supply the admin username and password, and get "Login Failed".

Windows firewall rules are fine. I'm getting the initial login page, so clearly its fine! But, just to do the test anyway, I disabled the firewall completely for both public, private, and domain (none of the PCs are in a domain, but hey, why not try?). No surprise, same result: "Login Failed".

I am not an idiot with computers. In fact, I get paid pretty well to work with them every day, in some fairly complex setups. But this one I just can't work out. It's the simplest possible setup, and still it still logging in from another PC just doesn't work. It's driving me nuts!

I should also say: I have NextPVR installed on a different PC on the LAN also, it's been working fine for years, and no issue logging into that machine. I even use the same admin username and password on that machine (I'm setting up a newer PC to replace the older one). I've even confirmed the password hash value in config.xml is the same on both those PC's.

I'm also ruling out typos. I've typed this probably 50 times, including logging into NextPVR on the local PC itself numerous times, typing the USR and PWD in manually, just to make sure I didn't make a typo when setting the password. The two machines are even sharing the same physical keyboard on a virtual KVM.

If anyone has any ideas how to move this forward, let me hear them.

Logs attached.
PC running NextPVR is 10.0.0.115; machine on LAN I'm trying to log in from (and fails to) is 10.0.0.144.

I wonder if it thinks you're on a different network? If so, it doesn't allow the default credentials to be used. ie you'd have to change the username/password.

Did you change the username, password and PIN so they aren't the defaults. Allow remote access also has to be enabled in settings.

Yeah, both username and password are non-default.

It shouldn't be necessary to enable remote access, since I'm not accessing it remotely. It's not enabled on the other NextPVR PC I have, and there login works fine.
But in any case: Changing the pin and enabling remote login doesn't change anything; login still fails.

Or rather, failed. I got it working now.

I uninstalled NextPVR, wiped all the NextPVR related folders I could identify, rebooted, reinstalled NextPVR, and reconfigured it. And now it just works. Go figure.  Huh
I should have done this days ago, that would have saved me a lot of time. I just didn't think to try until this morning.

Thanks for all suggestions!

It still would have been credentials, they get hidden with saved logins. Reset config.xml to defaults would have worked too.

With verbose logging enabled, we probably would have got some info to tell us what it was unhappy with.
