How to set up using emby guide data?

Emby broke my LiveTV with the latest update so I thought I would try to get NextPVR running again.  I used it years ago and liked it a lot but once I had guide data free in emby Premiere I just used it....until today when it broke and left me with no TV at all.

When I first installed NextPVR a little while ago I went to the guide in settings and it showed emby guide data as an option but when I just went back after trying to get my tuners working that is no longer an option and it only has the Schedules Direct login and the whole screen has changed from before.

What did I do wrong?

There has never been any option to use Emby guide data.

If Emby has an option to export to something standard like xmltv, then NextPVR could use that.

Otherwise Schedules Direct is a popular choice in that part of the world.

I'm telling you emby showed up in the guide part of the settings in NextPVR at first, then disappeared later. And with emby you can use M3U but that is something I would have to figure out.

You're mistaken. That has never existed.

I wrote the addon and can confirm this never existed. Emby does have an option to use NextPVR data though and you are probably remembering when Emby accepted Schedules Direct data from NextPVR. This was removed because SD is clear on not using their data in Emby

Also Emby doesn't provide free data, it is included in the subscription cost. It is also only the US, Canada and the UK. I did ask Luke if I was allowed to create XMLTV from their data and he said it wouldn't be allowed. If you can change his opinion I will look again

I have an emby Premiere lifetime subscription. And I hear what you are saying but I am neither blind nor stupid and when I first reinstalled NextPVR earlier today and went to the settings and went to the guide section there was a button that said "Emby Guide Data" or similar, all I remember exactly is it said emby. If it had not I would not have made this thread. Later when I looked again it had changed to Schedules Direct.....but I am not paying $35 a year for guide data that when I did use it was wrong a lot when I get accurate guide data in emby for basically free with my lifetime subscription which I paid $100 over 3 years ago so now the guide is free along with all the other perks of emby premiere.

I wrote NextPVR. There has never been Emby guide data support in NextPVR.

I’m sorry you paid Emby for life time guide data, but that is really nothing to do with NextPVR.

There are free xmltv options if Schedules Direct doesn’t meet your needs.

Schedules Direct and Emby both buy their data from GraceNote, so it should be pretty much the same data quality wise.
