The change was to provide a access to OpenTV data for the FTA channels that aren't on the Freesat guide so you don't need EPG Collector From your logs you are using a few.

Of that list all are on the Freesat EPG apart from Great TV which I don't watch so not on my EPG. All the channels I record are on the Freesat EPG.

I use TVheadend for live TV and only use the Freesat EPG download. I only watch a subset of the available channels and the only ones with missing EPG on are CNN and EuroNews which don't need an EPG for me!

It took a while to find any info on it as Google says OpenTV was a TV channel in Greece but the EPG now seems to be called "OpenPLi". It looks very similar to OpenTV but could be a different EPG creator?

The Sky TV OTA guide is broadcast FTA on 11778. OpenTV is how it is decoded. OpenPli is software but it can understand OpenTV format, as can TVHeadend and EPG Collector.

NextPVR prerelease downloads from both Freesat and OpenTV when configured for Freesat

For the info I am just going by the npvr.db3 you gave me and you do have Great! tv on 110 and 157. I am not sure why Dave and a few other didn't come from Freesat on the logs you posted. That would be a problem for duplicate checking because OpenTV doesn't have the CRID.

Thanks I didn't know Great TV was not on Freesat and that it was twice on the EPG on my test server but have removed both. One had EPG data and the other was blank. As it is the test server I have not looked at the list of channels for some time!

So you don't need OpenTV, and now that you know the that NextPVR uses the CRID in duplicate handling you basically don't EPG Collector right even with Freesat?

The original bug behind this thread still may to need to be addressed by sub https://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.ph...#pid590406.

I did a 60 second dump of 11778000 mux at 28.2 via "EPG Collector" using SAT>IP tuner because it was already installed and just worked without any problems and saved it to my Google drive. There is a .ts version at 252 Megs and a .zip version at 150 Megs.

If there is a problem with it I will try the ffmpeg that comes with NextPVR!

Thanks for the file.

There is also an issue with OpenTV that sub needs to look at

2024-06-04 02:45:01.123 [DEBUG][94] System.IndexOutOfRangeException: Index was outside the bounds of the array.
at NShared.TS.TSSectionParserOPENTVTitle.ReadSummaries(Byte[] data, Int32 length, Boolean huffman_debug)
at NShared.TS.TSSectionParserOPENTVTitle.Parse(Byte[] data, Int32 length)
at NShared.TS.TSSectionParser.AddData(Byte[] data, Int32 offset, Int32 length)

so he'd probably need you full mux on 11778 from your SAT>IP source. I can remind you how to capture that if you'd like.

Martin
I ran this file through, but didn't get any of these IndexOutOfRangeException exceptions. Might have either got lucky with the file he captured, or it might have been something I fixed after that initial beta build.

I didn't see that error either, but there sure were a lot of error from the source. I'm glad it was EPG Collector doing the capture which shows like a signal problem to me.

Yeah, there is a lot of dropped packets in there, so certainly scope for some bad EPG packets etc.

A recent evening I checked on my test server and noticed the in progress recording was reporting 250 bad packets! It sometimes reports “10s” of errors so next morning to check if it was just “tuner 1” I deleted all the channels leaving just tuner 2 & 3 with channels. It seemed to work but there were some unusual server messages which didn’t seem to be errors but the server would often crash so I had lots of failed recordings! Reinstating tuner 1 channels seems to have cured the problem but no answer about the cause of the Bad Packets!
Even with no channels on tuner 1 NextPVR is always using SAT>IP tuner 1 first when you look at the tuner front panel lights!

Earlier in the thread we talked about issue deleting from SAT>IP (that is what the post started about after-all) Did you try disabling tuner 1?
