Hi
I have a new Windows 11 machine. Nextpvr all up to date . If machine is awake will record a schedule recording all ok. However if it is asleep then the recording fails with the message Recording service not available.
Thanks for any suggestions

NextPVR definitely sets Windows wake timers, but it is up to Windows and your hardware to do the wake. There are many posts on what other users have done to fix Windows, setup BIOS etc if you use the forum search so maybe explain what you have tried (beyond the default).

We can look at the zipped logs to check for other problems if you upload them.

Check that you have "Resume by alarm" or "Wake-up on RTC" enabled in the bios.
A PC left in standby often wakes briefly to perform windows updates and other tasks. These can be seen in the task scheduler and you can check the task history to see if they are working.
You can also check the system event log for any successful non-nextpvr wake events.

There are at least five way for a PC to go to sleep we chose to disable all sleep modes as the hardware is all SSD. Been running for six months with no sleep issues. It seems many OS developers on multiple platforms are obsessed with going to sleep. Had to plug in a dummy HDMI plug to make it seem a video screen was always connected and on. Maybe about $100 invested including old desktop PC to create a Windows desktop used as a server.
