Hello,

I have a Lifeview FlyDVB-T PCI card installed, and am trying to use it with GB-PVR. I have managed to get it to scan for channels, and have mapped the channels to the EPG, getting the channel previews working in the appropriate box. However, when I run the application and try to watch TV, I get a message that "No capture-source was available to enable you to watch the requested channel". I don't know what I should be setting for my "channel changer", so that has been left as "no channel changer required". I can't see any other settings that are appropriate.

I live in London, UK, and my nearest transmitter is at Crystal Palace.

Hope you can help,

Ian

Hello again,

After a while I managed to get live preview working. Then I had a problem with recording - scheduled recordings would sometimes appear in the directory, but when I tried to play them they were empty. I did another test after rebooting, and this time I managed to record using the epg. However, when I played back the recording, the beginning was choppy, and then the sound went off. The mpg plays OK on other programs. What's more the sound has disappeared entirely. Nothing on live tv or playback.

I'm running the program on Windows XP, with a Lifeview DVB-T card.

I'd be very grateful for any help anyone can give.

Thanks,

Ian

Sound like a problem with your choice of multiplexer filter. I recommend Cyberlink MpgMux v5.0.0.727.

Thanks. Where do I find that? (As you can see, I'm basically an illiterate).

It depends which one you have installed, and where you got it from.

You view the version numbers by viewing the properties for the dll (or ax file in this case). You can find the location of the ax files by downloading the filter manager from: http://www.softella.com/dsfm/index.en.htm

The filters could be called any of the following- 'InterVideo Multiplexer', 'CyberLink MPEG Muxer' or 'ShowShifter MPEG PS Writer'. Which one is used is based on based on mux setting in the config app. If the one use selected isn't installed, then the system will use any of the others it can find.

Apparently I have the 'CyberLink MPEG Muxer' in the module C:\Program Files\Lifeview DTV\Common\Bin\MpgMux.ax. Not sure where I find the mux setting in the config app - I've tried all available options in the "BDA Multiplexer" box on the miscellaneous tab, if that's what you mean.

Now whenever I try to watch Live TV I get the message "Error: Input string was not in a correct format".

I was going to check whether the sound was still present in the preview box when I map the channels to the EPG as before, but clicking on that option now causes an unhandled exception which closes the config app.

Any ideas what's wrong?

If you view the properties for C:\Program Files\Lifeview DTV\Common\Bin\MpgMux.ax, what version is it (right mouse click on the file in file explorer)?

TThe version is 5.0.0.727. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app, but the error message still returns. Thanks for your help, anyway.

Hello again. GBPVR has now started working again, except that there is still no sound (except in the preview boxes where I map the channels to the EPG. Could it be that one of the other filters is conflicting? and if so is it safe to remove them?
