I wouldn't the fresh starts are what screws up Kodi. Kodi uses the channel ID not name and if the ID gets changed you will have bad icons. The original cache design was built around traditional PVR not IPTV

The channel ID shouldn't change in normal use. Obviously new channels he adds later might have new IDs though.

That is why I am thinking he is deleting and restarting, the calls seem to be coming in ok.

Ok, so here's what I did ...

I deleted my device off of the Web App > uninstalled NEXTPVR desktop app > completely cleared data and reset Kodi > installed NextPVR desktop > reconfigured a fresh install with my device on the Web app > ONLY chose the folder of channels I use instead of all of them like I did before (about half of the previous amount) > update the EPG on pop up request > back in kodi I setup nextpvr with a fresh config > now it looks A LOT better.

Sample size - USA+ folder with 160 channels, only about 8 had no logo or the wrong logo.

All 24/7 channels have the correct logo, etc.

I think we can pretty much close this as I am updating the small number of incorrect channel logos manually in channel manage as I have plenty of icon packs I can use on my internal storage.

Thank you both for all of the help in directing me!

OK if you are using the Kodi Channel Manager to map icons (which you never mentioned) that's your choice, but you really should be fixing them in NextPVR if they are wrong. If things go wrong using Channel Manager then you will need to go to the Kodi forum for help.

I had the same issue recently, with bloated channel icon caches in both NextPVR and Kodi, including from a lot of channels that were presumed deleted. NextPVR was still showing the correct icons, but not Kodi. Refresh Cache in the Kodi Client Specific Settings had no effect.

Deleting everything from C:\Users\Public\NPVR-data\media\channels, then refreshing with Download Channel Icons in the NextPVR web app Settings\Guide cleaned up that directory considerably, and finally deleting Textures.db and the entire Thumbnails directory in Kodi allowed the right icons to be associated with their channels. No telling if that entire process was necessary, but it did the trick.

Edit. I do recall that Download Channel Icons did not pick up icons from all of the saved channels the first time. Cycling again grabbed a few more, and again a couple of more. By the 4th try, nothing was happening, and some icons were still missing (as easily determined by looking at the Channels page), so I just added them manually.

I am confident that the Refresh Channel icon functions works. The texture cache can include channel icons but they are rarely used and the hash are based on modification time and size anyway. This might be skin related but I still continue it a non-issue with the logs and an example file to confirm.

You definitely have to click Download channel icons in NextPVR even if you manually add them, they aren't automatically picked up. There is caching in the web server too.
