Install Fail on Existing System

Win 10 64 system, updating from version 6 to version 7. Got an error statement upon running the install.exe. After install, I cannot access the localhost url. I can access the desktop app, and the tray app never goes green.

I would make sure to run as administrator and reboot and retry.

Ran install as admin and received the same error message. Rebooted, and no luck. Still no web access and no status with NPVRTray. Shouldn't have attempted an upgrade I guess. Now looking like uninstall reinstall and loss of my setup.

Don't uninstall we can get this going. Kill ntray.exe with task manager and retry.

Killed NPVRTray with Task Manager, ran install as admin, same error and results as in OP. Rebooted, and no access to web server, and Hauppauge tuner not seen in status. NPVR service is running.

After killing npvrtray.exe use admin file manager to remove "C:\Program Files\NextPVR\NPVRTray.exe"

Now I can't terminate the NPVRTray process with task manager or Taskkill with PID from admin Command Prompt! When I tray to delete the NPVRTray.exe with elevated explorer.exe, it tells me (see attachment).

OK. Got it sorted. I had to boot windows into safe mode to enable deletion of NPVRTray.exe. After that, ran the install again as admin, and got an error. Rebooted, and NPVR is back and running 7.0.1 version.
