Thanks guys ... I just ran the runtime update you referenced.  It was instant gratification and extreme joy.  The Nextpvr client now works perfectly. Still have to check the web and the audio sync problem etc. and I'll get right on that.  You know when I use that Revo uninstaller I always chose an advanced setup where I can have full control of what gets deleted etc.  It can do a "deep" scan for left over registry entries etc. and I always run it in a manual mode where I can select exactly what it's deleting.  Sigh .. one of those times (like after 10 hours of working on this around 4 in the morning), I did the "auto" mode and let it do it's thing without any human intervention.  Ugh ... I think you hit the nail on my head.  Stupid of me.  Sometimes I'm my own worst enemy.  Thanks again.

Great, the odd thing was the installer I asked you to check did indicate it did the same thing

Code:
2025-03-29 23:19:06.515    [DEBUG][1]    Will download VC runtime to C:\Program Files\NextPVR\VC_redist.x86.exe
2025-03-29 23:19:06.705    [DEBUG][1]    'NextPVR Service' does not exist
2025-03-29 23:19:07.710    [DEBUG][1]    runtime download is complete
2025-03-29 23:19:07.711    [DEBUG][1]    running "C:\Program Files\NextPVR\VC_redist.x86.exe" /install /passive /norestart /silent
2025-03-29 23:20:20.718    [DEBUG][1]    Download complete

Does "C:\Program Files\NextPVR\VC_redist.x86.exe" exist?

Sync issues won't be related.

Martin that is curious.  I checked my recorded data and maybe you'll find this interesting.

Original VC runtime found several days ago was 14.38.33130   for min and additional VC runtimes.
On March 28th I ran an MS dot.net utility to check my version of .net and it found errors and re-installed .net.  The .net utility log shows among other things that the VC runtimes were also re-installed.  And the resultant VC runtime version was 14.38.33130 (same as was originally installed)

Then today I ran the VC update you pointed me to and it put a new version in place   14.42.34438  And Eureka .. the problem was solved.   I didn't go back far enough at this time to see when that old 33130 version was installed.  I have had new updates to a few programs over the last months and I'm assuming one of them changed the then existing VC runtime to that 33130 version which might happened during a recent application update or install ?  And that is what caused the problem.

Whatcha think ?

I suspect that 14.38.33130 would have been OK, but when you try and manipulate and adjust things you could have missed with the dependencies.

I was actually checking if the version that NextPVR installed for you today was there.
