How to set up IR blaster???

Yes they are networked clients.  The screen is actually rendered on the server.  This is why I wondered why you needed 4 instances of NextPVR, one server might be enough.

We'd still be looking to use 1 PC for 1 TV (x2), as her viewing preferences and mine are very different. She watches some stuff I dislike, and I watch some stuff she can't stand to see even in the listings. So she has her own setup and I have mine, hence networking them hasn't come up as a consideration. (Except for what we watch together on the family room PC/TV.)

Changing the input source for an HDPVR is a bit complicated.  I would remove all the channels with the trash can and readd them as HDMI.

Finally getting the time to do this (changing the input source). But I haven't selected an input source in months and my memory of the process is fuzzy at best. I know to connect the HDMI cable to the splitter, and I know that the input source can be changed from composite to HDMI once the channels are cleared. However---do we in addition need to reconfigure the IR blaster (BlastCFG.exe), or can we skip that part and go straight to repopulating the channel list?

UPDATE: As it turned out, it wasn't necessary (thankfully) to reconfigure the IR blaster. However, after repopulating the channel list and launching the GUI client, there was no audio and NPVR was reporting in a screen overlay that no AC3 decoder was selected. I went into the client settings and, in the Decoders section, selected AC3 audio in every place that it was an option.

The type of HDMI splitter referenced here is working well: all the channels I've tried, I can see both straight to the TV and through the HDPVR to NextPVR.

We are back in business (so far!).

Glad you got it working, You could have changed the audio input globally or by selecting channel rather than clearing all channels on the settings page.

Re-read my last sentence here https://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.ph...#pid602344  since this was always going to be the hardest part.  Have you read how to configure the IR blaster with the HDPVR using BlastCFg.exe in the HDPVR doucmentation?  If not the document is at the bottom coomeet 1v1chat

There is no point configuring NextPVR if your hardware isn't working.

Retrofitted hardware often requires a bit of "tribal knowledge" to get working, especially when mixing older IR blasters with modern Windows 11 systems. The IR blaster setup is notoriously finicky because it relies on a very old utility called IRBlast.exe that hasn't changed much in a decade.
