I have a Hauppauge HD PVR 2, and I'm trying to set up an IR blaster in NextPVR.   I'm running Windows 11 and NextPVR v6.1.5.231022.  The Hauppauge blaster works in WinTV.  I was hoping to use HaupBlast.exe in NextPVR.  When I test it in a cmd prompt, I get the following error:

C:\Windows\System32>C:\"Program Files"\NextPVR\HaupBlast.exe 568
m_IRBlasterPort == 0; hcwirblast.dll disabled

The "568" is just one of my channels.  Is my syntax bad, or does HaupBlast.exe not work anymore?  Thanks in advance.

I can't really help but when you say it is working in WinTV do you mean you can run and change channels using BlastCFG?

Yes, can change channels with BlastCFG. Sorry, I'm not very computer-literate. I thought that HaupBlast.exe used BlastCFG to change channels.

You use BlastCFG to configure the type of set top box etc the HDPVR2 blaster will be controlling. HaupBlast.exe then should be able to change channels.

I'm not sure exactly what causes that "hcwirblast.dll disabled" message. Maybe not finding the dll. I'm about of the country at the moment, but if you bump the post in a couple days, I'll look it up for you.

Might be worth your while posting logs after attempting to operate your IR Blaster. It will assist Sub trying to determine how these button presses are being handled by NPVR.

Always true but typically for blasters it is best to get the blaster script running from command prompt before even trying it in NextPVR.

Yes, I am trying to do this in a cmd prompt to get the blaster script running as Martin suggested.

In response to sub, yes I ran BlastCFG to set up the the set-top box. That was successful. And I checked to see where "hcwirblast.dll" is located. It's in C:\Windows\SysWOW64.

Instead of C:\Windows\System32 what if you change to the folder with the dll?

CD C:\Windows\SysWOW64
"C:\Program Files\NextPVR\HaupBlast.exe" 568

I just tried that and I'm still getting the "hcwirblast.dll disabled" error.
