iptv playlist channel refresh

Hi folks - 

I have been using Nextpvr for many years to record TV for later viewing.

I have now completely 'cut the cord' and rely solely on iptv m3u8 playlists.

since my internet connection can handle it, i have 5 tuners set up each with the same playlist....
this works really well. it allows for 4 parallel recordings, as well as any random epg update should it happen while im recording 4 shows at once...
(sometimes if i'm watching tv in another room, recordings fail, but thats another story.)

from time to time, the m3u8 playlists are updates, which means i need to refresh them in nextpvr....

really dumb question, and i suspect i already sorta know the answer....

do i have to update the channels for each tuner, or would i get away with just one?

If you use the external API setting.m3u.update with NScripthelper and no parameters no, otherwise yes. Are they 5 different accounts? If not just use max connections.

I am looking to see if IPTV and especially XC code logins can be automated to do this as part of the EPG update and will be proposing some enhancements to sub.

Wow thanks for the quick response...

i am but a mere 'gui' user, so don't have any scripting smarts.

I'm not sure what 'accounts' means - i dont need to 'log in' to any of the iptv channels, as they are all 'free to air'

(i basically use the mjh playlists for australian tv)
from time to time they stop working, and a channel refresh usually fixes it.
since i have 5 tuners set up i have to refresh all 5 (boo-hoo, poor bugger me, right? :-) )

having the option for an automated channel refresh is a great idea!

OK not knowing why you have 5 tuners since you posted you use the same playlist you should be able to increase max connections shown at the top of the IPTV screen to 5 (shown here as 32 https://github.com/sub3/NextPVR/wiki/setup-iptv ) and delete 4 tuners of the 5 tuners you have.

Since you never sent the requested logs then I guess we can't help you. So yes you need to click 5 times even if it shouldn't be necessary.
