Hi, I've recently added another IPTV source which has a very large EPG (over 42,000 channels). This is causing serious delays when mapping the channel to the guide, sometimes it takes 3-8 minutes to load the guide (per channel) when allocating as well as missing channels in the drop down box and difficult to find.

So this post is a combination of questions and/or suggestion.

Question 1) how can I make it load faster when mapping?

Question 2) Should there be missing channels in the drop down? is there a maximum of channels listed?

The suggestion is; can we have a filter box in the channel mapping area, so it would cut down the amount of time finding the channel

Happy to PM the dev team the EPG link if you would like to test it out & see what I mean....

Thanks.

PS. I did try out Dispatcharr and it loads the EPG almost instantly with a search box. So I am not sure if you are able to see how they do it? I would rather stick with NextPVR as I have used it for ages and it is super reliable with recordings etc.

Using the xc API can be much more efficient and I think that will be improved as will filtering n a future version. I have even provided a mock-up for sub that is.very fast. I would be happy to look a pm I expect most of your channels are actually vod.

As for channel and epg mapping that should be automatic so the problem is not clear,

Thanks for the reply Martin. I am not sure what the xc api is?  I will PM you the EPG, I think it is mostly channels but you may be able to tell...

I meant the playlist URL. I want to work on filtering it to a manageable PVR list

My playlist only has 70 channels, it is the EPG that is slowing it all down when it loads because (I assume) it is so large; 42653 channels & 374875 entries total.

If you add the EPG that I PM'ed you, does it load easy and complete for you?

Sorry I misunderstood the problem. Certainly a drop down list is not ideal for such a massive channel list but I expect the source could be configured to make things easier too.

OK I am back from vacation and have had a chance to look at the xmltv file you linked and the the good news is that there is a lot of kruft in those 43K plus startis, stations with no EPG data including VOD data and 24/7 stations

It is also understandable why some channels don't show you up since there are many cases where the same guide id is used multiple times with different name and even then the linked guide has no data.

I still would like to get your source info to see what automap might be able to do to help. If you don't want to provide your credentials I would like these two files which shouldn't have the credentials in them,

curl -s "http:/url:port/player_api.php?username=...&password=...&action=get_live_categories" >category.json
curl -s "http:/ip:port/player_api.php?username=...&password=...&action=get_live_streams" > livestream.json

From the liveststream file give me some sample id's to check if you like.
