Hi all,
Perhaps this is being worked on for v6, but I'm coming from a mythtv backend and frontend setup that I've wiped and thought I'd try out nextpvr as it looks promising.
However, I've got issues with being able to record or watch livetv. Sometimes it works, sometimes not.
I've got three tuner cards (2x DTV1000T Leadtek which worked flawlessly) and another Winfast DTV2000 DS which doesn't scan as well in Myth, but tunes just fine when running.
I've disabled the third tuner for now, but it seems I can't have one tuner running and then record or watch another show at the same time (or listen to the radio stream for that matter). I did think this was doable from what I've read.
I've got a desktop PC with an old intel core2duo cpu and three pci cards for tuners.
Do I need to downgrade (somehow) to v5, or is there a fix for this type of behaviour?
I was also have a few issues with the EPG and scanning but I think I figured that out.
It would be nice to also be able to grab EPG data as soon as the system locks on to a channel. But, I'm just a humble hack, no IT expert.

I was really hoping this would be a nicer setup and less clunky that the mythtv setup I've had for over 15 years, so I'm happy to get logs (if you help me find them) to see if I can iron this out.
I've followed the instructions for setting up permissions for my two external hard drives (mounting them in two folders in my home folder) and running the script to change permissions / groups.

If I restart the pc, it will work fine, but still no dual recordings. Then, at some point it will all fail and i'll need to restart the server / pc.
Otherwise, it looks like a promising service. Regards,
Larry

What client are you streaming with? Ultimately we need your zipped logs to diagnose this.

Hi, I'm using Kodi on the same machine.
Here is my recent log files from the web browser.
FYI, I was tuned in to classic FM, decided to use a Windows based Kodi client to try and change channels and watch something (which kicked off the ABC Classic FM radio channel), then I think the server didn't want to play nice and it won't play anything.

Your adapter conf files are not in sync at all. Did you scan and copy or scan twice and merge? I am thinking you copied the scan file from the bad tuner to one of our good tuners.

I would delete the channels from adaper0 and 1 and their respective conf files

/var/opt/nextpvr/adapter0-DVB-T-channels.conf
/var/opt/nextpvr/adapter1-DVB-T-channels.conf

Do this by holding control on the tuner and clicking the trash can.

Then rescan and copy when it is suggested.

You also might need to configure your tuners rules so that adapter0 1 and 2 are always the same device.

We've found that NextPVR can be a bit quirky with some approaches to setting up multiple tuners, leading to conf files being out of sync, and it looks like this is what is happening for you.

I'd have a fresh at it, by following these steps... go to the Settings->Channel screen, delete all your channels. Delete the /var/opt/nextpvr/adapter*.conf files. Go to Settings->Devices and scan one of your DVB-T devices, and ok to save the channels. When you click on the second DVB-T tuner, it'll offer to copy the configuration from the existing tuner. Accept it's offer. After this, hopefully both of the DVB-T tuners should work.

The best solution here would be to check your conf files, I think adapter3 is the only good one and create what I think are missing files.

sudo cp /var/opt/nextpvr/adapter3-DVB-T-channels.conf /var/opt/nextpvr/adapter0-DVB-T-channels.conf
sudo cp /var/opt/nextpvr/adapter3-DVB-T-channels.conf /var/opt/nextpvr/adapter1-DVB-T-channels.conf

Hi, I've done the remove the *.conf files and re-tuned and copied the channels over in the settings.
However, I still had the same issue.
I've just tried to copy the *.conf file that I know works as Martin posted above.
Hopefully this works.
