Hi all,
Perhaps this is being worked on for v6, but I'm coming from a mythtv backend and frontend setup that I've wiped and thought I'd try out nextpvr as it looks promising.
However, I've got issues with being able to record or watch livetv. Sometimes it works, sometimes not.
I've got three tuner cards (2x DTV1000T Leadtek which worked flawlessly) and another Winfast DTV2000 DS which doesn't scan as well in Myth, but tunes just fine when running.
I've disabled the third tuner for now, but it seems I can't have one tuner running and then record or watch another show at the same time (or listen to the radio stream for that matter). I did think this was doable from what I've read.
I've got a desktop PC with an old intel core2duo cpu and three pci cards for tuners.
Do I need to downgrade (somehow) to v5, or is there a fix for this type of behaviour?
I was also have a few issues with the EPG and scanning but I think I figured that out.
It would be nice to also be able to grab EPG data as soon as the system locks on to a channel. But, I'm just a humble hack, no IT expert.
I was really hoping this would be a nicer setup and less clunky that the mythtv setup I've had for over 15 years, so I'm happy to get logs (if you help me find them) to see if I can iron this out.
I've followed the instructions for setting up permissions for my two external hard drives (mounting them in two folders in my home folder) and running the script to change permissions / groups.
If I restart the pc, it will work fine, but still no dual recordings. Then, at some point it will all fail and i'll need to restart the server / pc.
Otherwise, it looks like a promising service. Regards,
Larry
