Trouble setting up digital cable box

Should the source I set up for the cable box be set to-
Under Settings, in Direct Recording Plugin
Should it be Capture Source 1 or Capture Source 2 under Board Number.

I have my Hauppuage regular cable as Capture Source 1 - should the cable box be the same or different.

Somethings not right - in set up or somewhere - Ive done something wrong. I tried to set a manual recording of one of the digital channels and it failed. I also tried to go in a cancel it and it gave me the message "failed to communicate with recording service".

I REALLY appreciate all your help

They should both be set to device #1
