Audio encoding question

I was wondering, when GBPVR records a show, how does it encode the audio? Is it just raw wav format, or does it use MP3 encoding? I have mp3 encoders installed on my system, but I'm not sure if GBPVR utilizes them or not, or what I would need to do to get it to do so.

does anyone know this, or know of a way to find out what audio format an avi file has been encoded in? Thanks

It uses MPEG1 Layer II audio.

I think the gspot utility can show you this.
