Strange problem here, reboot. I can frameserve on one pc & it works perfectly. If I try this on another pc with exactly the same file from vdub to mainconcept I get a green output file.

I've double checked that I'm using the same versions of mainconcept & vitualdub-mpeg2 but cant work out whats wrong.

Both pc's are the same mpbo & cpu, the one with GBPVR & Hauppauge card is the problem one

Any ideas?

Obviously something is different. The mpeg-2 video codec, the mp2 audio codec, something...
If Mainconcept can't read the frameserved video, it's most likely the mpeg-2 decoder, although it could also be the version of vdub you're using.
Can you open the .vdr in windows media player (WMP) and see if it plays?
If not, then you can pretty much tell it's the mpeg-2 decoder gone awry.
Virtualdub-mpeg2 hasn't been updated in a very long time, try virtualdubmod instead.
There's also virtualdub-ac3...
It's a software thing, and could take a few hours to decypher.
You could also frameserve from vdubmod to avisynth, with a short script.
Another thing to try, save the .vdr as a .avi instead. Sometimes just renaming the extention works. It's still just a place marker, not a real file, but mainconcept may read it better.

Good to hear. Too bad so many people think they have to modify the xvid codec(s). It ends up that one version is not compatible with another. I have only ever used kopeki's, making sure to uninstall old, before installing new.
