I'm evaluating these products because of the Hauppage 350 TV out support. I think these are the only 2 apps that support it?

Anyone here tried them both?

What are the pros and cons of each?

They both have bugs when it comes to PVR350 support, mainly because we both use the same buggy drivers. Both experience machine lockups on a large number of PCs.

I don't use the TV out feature so I can't report on that but I'm very happy with my pvr 350. I 'trialed' Sagetv for 30 days and it may (at times) have a flashier GUI but even if it was free, I'd still stick with GB-PVR.
But, don't think I'm looking for freeware because I have donated Smile

i found sage was much better and quick channel changing in timeshift mode, and it was nice that if you changed channels, for 5minutes, change back, you could still rewind the show(skipping over the 5minutes you missed, since you were on a different channel). so yeah sagetv has some really nice features, tv preview in guide. but all and all, its lacky far to much, the skin is completely but ugly, its written in java (never a good sign), i couldnt get the menu to fit my 350s output (about 1/5 of the bottom was just black, the live tv was fullscreen thou). and its just a pvr program, its not really a media centre program, well it doesnt feel like one.

I don't really understand what "timeshift" is. Can someone explain it?

I tried the trial SageTV but could never get the output to work in menu mode. Forget the TV or watching mode, the menus were all screwed up, and would eventually crash the box. This was the one that came with the card, and the one downloaded. I just quit trying.
