XMLTV problems
I've read the threads here an I'm unable to find an answer to my XMLTV problems.

I'm trying to setup SageTV with XMLTV epg, following the instructions found here in several other threads. plugin name is in properties file, classes are in the right location, xerces is available in my JRE.

I enter my zip code as 00000, and select XMLTV as my source, it then asks me to 'please wait' while it contacts the sagetv server. Then it just sits there forever. I can push the left arrow to go back to the zip code page, but I just cant go past this page.

I've tried entering TRIAL when asked for the SageTV Service code, but it didn't seem to make any difference.

Any one got any ideas?

this is way back in 2003, i wonder if using sage is the reason sub made gbpvr... im sure theres a good story there, perhaps we could turn it into a movie, brad pitt could play sub and bruce willis could play the evil ceo of sage (he would have lots of guns...).

Now we know what chapter 1 of subs' life is like. It's always nice to know how it all began......if that's indeed the case.
I trialed SageTV and just as I was about to plop down some dinero, I ran into GBPVR and the rest is history.

Yeah, I bought a PVR350 when I was on holiday in Amsterdam in early 2003. I tried to make a go of it with SageTV for a couple of months, with pretty minimal success. I never quite got a setup I was happy with. I ended up shelving the idea. SageTV v1.4 was craptastic, and very ugly. At that time there werent many other options.

Later that year (November?) I started to fool around with writing my own PVR. I decided to use C# because I wanted to learn C# and .NET. I only intended it to be for my own use. After a couple of months I was really happy with how it was turning out, and I thought other would really appreciate it as well... and here we are today.

So, an important contribution to the world of pvr-ing is from the Netherlands Big Grin

I remember you contacting me on the myHTPC forums that you created a command-line movieplayer that uses the tv-out of the pvr350. That was november/december 2003. I even just found a message where I comment on the new version 005c :p

And look at what we've got now!
