Hey guys, I am new to this whole PVR thing. Smile I was able to get GB-PVR to communicate with my card today althoug I had one question. When I go to the Config, under Recording and Playback, there are three options for me:-

1. NONE - Software
2. PVR 350
3. Sigma XL

I was not able to see my PVR150 there. Does this mean that there is no Hardware support for my PVR150? and I will not be able to to use the hardware decoder? I do get reception but am not sure if it is in Software mode or Hardware. Please help!

Here is my rig:

AMD 2400 SEMP
512 DDR 400
Audigy 2 ZS PLTM
eVGA 5200
160GB WD

Thanks.

the 150 is a hardware encoder, not decoder you need to select none.

So if I am correct. There should not be any lag on the hardware side from my PVR150?

Huh? A hardware MPEG2 encoder/decoder only affects CPU usage, and doesnt really have any direct effect on lag.

The PVR150 has a hardware MPEG2 encoder, so it takes about 3% CPU while recording. Since the PVR150 doesnt have an MPEG2 DEcoder, your PC's CPU will need to be used to view any video (how much depends on CPU).

Unrelated, but if you use live preview mode, you'll get the least time difference between real TV and what you see on your PC.
