I've just installed a Nova-T and while I can map channels, watch live TV and record in Showshifter and WinTV, GBPVR just hangs.

I've started with a clean install of the latest version of GBPVR and the latest, 21, drivers from Hauppauge for the Nova-T.

There are two different ways it hangs when I press the "Map digital channels to EPG channels" button.

1. It just freezes

2. A small window pops-up which requests "Point me at the config directory please" and then it's frozen.

I'm using Windows XP Pro SP2 with all the latest updates and have only the SS multiplexer (3.11.0.2913).

Any help greatly appreciated.

I'm currently trying to get gbpvr to work for me (don't have much time to spend on it at the mo), and ran into this problem. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling drivers and gbpvr, but couldn't get it sorted. In the end, I reset the computer back to a previous system restore point, and re-installed the drivers then gbpvr. Gbpvr didn't work and so I installed the full set of hauppauge tools, then it worked.
I've seen a few threads on this, and think it's just "one of those things" that sometimes happens. From my experience, I think that installing gbpvr after the drivers may help...

For anyone that is interested I've now got this working. All I did since my previous post was to install the latest versions of ShowShifter, Intervideo & Cyberlink. So I now have the following multiplexers on my PC.

GB-PVR has detected the following multiplex filters on your machine:

Found: CyberLink MPEG Muxer
FILE: C:\Program Files\CyberLink\Shared Files\PDMpgMux.ax
VERSION: 3.5.0107

Found: InterVideo Multiplexer
FILE: C:\Program Files\InterVideo\Common\Bin\ivimux.ax
VERSION: 3.0.88.4

Found: CyberLink MPEG Muxer
FILE: C:\Program Files\CyberLink\PowerCinema\Capture\MpgMux.ax
VERSION: 4.0.2122

Found: ShowShifter MPEG PS Writer
FILE: C:\Program Files\Home Media Networks Limited\ShowShifter\MpegWriter.ax
VERSION: 3.12.0.2945

This window is generated by the ShowShifter mux v3.12.0.2945. Dont use this version with GB-PVR.

Also I'd unregister the prehistoric version of the CyberLink mux at C:\Program Files\CyberLink\Shared Files\PDMpgMux.ax.

You could try the other Cyberlink mux, but its also pretty old.

It's interesting that the Cyberlinks muxs are old as I downloaded and installed the trial of PowerCinema 3 today!

How do I unregister the muxs?

Thanks,

Dan

Its at least a couple of years old. I'm using version 5.0.1307.

regsvr32 /u "C:\Program Files\CyberLink\Shared Files\PDMpgMux.ax"

I dont know. It was installed with one of the many DVB apps I've got on my machine.

Maybe with my Twinhan DVB-S install?
