I have got a FireDTV CI/S which works fine with MY Theater that comes with the receiver. I have installed the BDA drivers and setup a recording source in GB-PVR. When I select "Map digital channels to EPG channels" the PC crash immediatly and reboots.

I don't have any problem with my normal recording source PVR-350.

Thanks for any advice to get this sorted.

Regards

Rebooting is usually a sign of some problem in the drivers, particularly when you note I'm doing the exact same thing to every other BDA device I support in GB-PVR, and they're managing to not reboot.

That said, post your config.exe.log and config.exe-native.log and I'll see if it's managing to write any useful information to the log before the actual reboot.

There is no error in the logs. They're just cut short where the reboot happens.

Sorry but I'll have to stick to my previous comment: If the machine reboots, then its likely the drivers for the FireDTV device are having problems on your machine. I'm doing the exact same thing to every other BDA device I support in GB-PVR, and they're managing to not reboot.

I've mentioned this reboot to the FireDTV manufacturer. I dont think I'll get a resolution from them, but I'll let you know if they provide any useful insights.

Thanks Sub,

I have also posted a message on FireDTV's forum.

Is there anybody else out there that successfully running FireDTV together with GBPVR?

"successfully" might be a bit strong, but my FireDTV CI/S certainly doesnt make my machine reboot.

My device generally works well, but occasionally wont lock onto a channel (even though signal strength is good) for some unknown reason. I dont get this behaviour on the other BDA devices I have.

That is promising. I will try it in my test machine and see if that also crash. I just need to get an extra Firewire card to be able to do that.

Update: The crash problem has been solved. It didn't have anything to do with GBPVR nor FireDTV. It was my graphic card. I always use my PVR-350 as output device so I have never tested the software decorder. The Channel mapping screen is using the software decorder and VMR9 to show in a small window. That caused the crash. By removing the card an use the embedded solved this. Now I will continue to setup the FireDTV card. I can download the channel information but I have problem to tune into them, but that is an other story.
