Recordings no longer listed

I had to move my recordings to another driver and now they are no longer listed. It looks like the startup logic is validating the files and if they don't exist, it removes them(?) During the process of moving things around, I had to wait for a recording and after a final shuffling, that recording disappeared from the list. The files are there and I can get to them using the Video Library, but all the description info is gone.

It would be nice if the entry is simply marked as missing so that I can clean it up or otherwise take care of the problem (e.g., saving to a network drive that is taken offline occassionally). What I really want to be able to do is add this information back to the database so my recordings have nice descriptions (and it would be really nice if similar data could be added to the Video Library).

Any tips/hints would be greatly appreciated.

If GB-PVR can find the recordings, it assumes you've manually deleted the files, so it removes the info from the database to automatically clean up.

You're probably out of luck I'm affraid.

There are so many situations that can prevent GB-PVR from finding the recordings and having the program immediately clean out all the program information seems a bit harsh. A reasonably simple solution would be to mark the entries in red and providing an button on the left that allows the user to cleanup the missing files -- an option could be provided to enable automatic cleanup or not.

In the meantime, I'll try to figure out a way to patch the database.

Nah, I thought about doing something like that early on in develop and decided against it. I'm happy with the current behaviour.

If you want to make sure it will never happen again.. Install xrecord and add xexport to the postprocessing.bat. Xrecord will always export the database to a file. And show the data when it is viewed in xrecord.

Video Archiver does something similar and my videos might too
