Hi Everyone,

Recently, I upgraded the GBPVR to that latest version (as of two weeks ago) and the upgrade went well. Yesterday evening, however, I shut down the front-end, went to the config, then restarted the front-end. Upon launching the front-end, I saw an MSI installer message that read somthing on the lines of:

"Please wait while we configure the application" - It it the customary MSI/Setup startup message.

Once the application started, I had no guide, no capture sources, and not recorded programs. I shut down the front-end app again, and noticed that my 200-something MB DB was replaced by the usual (empty) 400k DB. Naturally, I was furious! I had a snapshot of the DB I had right before the upgrade, and used that to reconfigure the app. Naturally, I lost track of any recordings I had from that point forward.

I have updated the PVR app a few times, and I had never run into that problem before.

This problem is a little dinconcerting, for the obvious reason. I know that my DB is gone Sad, but I would like to know the cause of the problem, so that I can protect myself as much as possible.

Thanks in advance, and thanks for a great app!

two options. First look in your gbpvr directory there is a backup of the database. Copy it back.

I have seen this I created my own shortcut to the gbpvr.exe and put it on the desktop. My shortcut works, if I use the other it always pops up the installer. Have not figured out why. I dont think sub has yet either.

Some people have started running a batch that backs up their database nightly.
